Hotel amenities and service quality are inconsistent, ranging from exceptional staff interactions to major operational failures and renovation issues. Guests cite significant noise due to construction or dated infrastructure as a primary detractor.
I unfortunately have to rate them very low because I booked the hotel expecting to get the rooms presented on the website. After I booked, I received an email that it is under renovation and that if I had any questions I could reach out to the sender provided an email. Upon arrival to my surprise, they put you in a room in a residential building nearby. It was fine, but It was nothing like the rooms represented on the website, and there were no amenities for which I had paid. At this point, I did reach out to the contact person provided in hopes of receiving a discount when I was at the hotel last week. I did not get a call back and my email was returned to me as “Address not found”. I was able to leave a voicemail last week, but as of today, the phone number provided is not working nor is the number on the website. I see now on the website that they are taking reservations. Unless they have completed the renovation In the two days that I have been gone, you most likely, will not be getting those rooms or amenities. As I would have liked to know about the situation I encountered, I wanted to share this information for other people that might be booking with this hotel. It might be changed in the future and I hope it is, but as for now this is what happened to me. Best of luck! .
The actual resort was under renovation. Did not have any amenities while we visited. The rooms were okay. Nothing fancy! Would recommend waiting until the renovations are done to visit here. They never informed us about the renovations while we were making the booking which was unfair.
Our first visit to the Jackson home was a notable experience. Considering the hotel's desirable location and premium rates, I had high standards. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed that amenities would be unavailable due to ongoing construction, which was a letdown. The lobby was located beyond a parking lot filled with construction equipment, including a large crane. Moreover, my husband had to park and walk a considerable distance back to the hotel, which was not convenient. We considered leaving but decided to stay due to the late hour. Fortunately, we encountered Marthy, an exceptional employee who provided prompt assistance. His warm smile and kind demeanor made us feel welcome, and he ensured a smooth check-in process. The next day, he addressed us by name, offered guidance, and suggested local activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service. Marthy's dedication to customer service was the primary reason we chose to stay. His efforts had a significant impact, and I hope his hard work is acknowledged. If I were a business owner, I would extend a job offer to him without hesitation.
Excellent lodge, spacious room, very pleasant and helpful staff. Bed and pillows are perfect for the night sleep. Jacuzzi in the bathroom adds an additional wow! The only downside is that place was under renovation when I visited and had to use all the amenities at the adjacent resort which was already crowded.
Our room was very nice - beautiful fireplace, comfy bed and pillows, and big jacuzzi tub. Not sure if we got upgraded as we booked a standard room but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The amenities are being remodeled but either way I would stay here again and recommend to friends/family.
New owners are cheaper than the likes of my home state of Mississippi. Never thought I’d make a review like this for what was ONCE my favorite resort. I’ve been coming to this resort every year for nine years, and every time I’ve been here (up until this year) it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. However, recently there are new owners of this hotel who obviously have no interest in keeping this jewel a destination for many visitors. The spa itself has degraded the most, the hot tub outside has not worked for two years but I decided to be patient about it last year because I understand things happen. This year there is a hose running lukewarm water into the pool that they call a “hot tub.” I’ve had to request so many essential items that should already be in my room, such as robes, a do-not-disturb sign, water, and soap bottles that are not 4/5’s empty. If you plan on visiting the spa during the hours of 9a-9p (regular open times) it’s kind of hit or miss whether or not all the spa equipment will be unavailable, off, or closed off. I’ve had to request the front desk to send somebody to the men’s spa twice to just turn all the lights on, because why should I have to do it when I’m spending basically $900 a night to stay here for 7 days? The service from the hotel workers has been okay, although I think I can ask for some silverware for my room without getting scoffed at by the bartender. Didn’t even get real silverware either, I got some biodegradable fork that bent before I even opened the PLASTIC THAT IT CAME IN. The ice machines won’t work in some areas of the hotel, so if you want to have a drink in your own room you’ll have to venture to another floor before you can do so. Half the power outlets in my room are not functioning whatsoever so I have to charge my phone on the other side of my room. Best part of this hotel so far has been the view outside the window of the mountain, but even the windows are just plain nasty. And if you’ve heard that they’re renovating, don’t fall for that. It’s the annual joke around here apparently, even the manager at the desk plainly said she had no idea if it would happen or when it would happen because they said the same thing last year. There are people here that have far too much money, and I’m sure they don’t care about the state of this hotel. But this has been my resting spot of choice for nearly a decade, and to see it massacred in such a way is just sad, just like the laundromat downstairs.
We stay here every year and have since 2020 - sometimes twice a year during good snow. However, regretfully this may be our last stay here. The pool and gym are amazing, the rooms are pretty great and the location is great BUT if you cannot have hot water and even take a slightly warm shower at the beginning or end of a long ski day, NONE of the great amenities matter. I’ve requested to change rooms so we’ll see what happens but get the hot water situation fixed YESTERDAY. We’re here for an 8-day stay and this is extremely disappointing.
Great Location. Service was a hit or miss, some good people there and some that should not be working in hospitality (felt like i was a bother to them) The biggest issue i had was how run down the hotel was. Probably was amazing 10-15 years ago but didn't seem to be updated in many years. To the point where things felt dirty, many things broken, and old etc. Seems like their management just let the hotel go years ago and isn't making the proper investments to upkeep it. I hope that changes as the hotel has the bones to be great given attention to detail and proper upkeep investments.
Ski-in resort with a lovely pool and comfortable rooms. Our family couldn’t be more grateful for the help from David (the manager) and Raquel (front desk staff member) upon our arrival. We are so thankful for their efforts to accommodate us and make our stay more pleasant. The bar was great, and the ski rental staff were phenomenal too!
If you stay at this hotel the only cool thing is the ski valet with awesome staff and location. They put us in a room next to the ice machine, elevator, some loud machinery and parking lot. We got no sleep at all from how ridiculously loud it was. Even my kids could not sleep. When asked for a room change they gave us a dark room with a view of a wall! We simply laughed trying to not let it affect our holiday. Not at all worth the high price not at all. Actually quite insulting to ask for such a high rate for the quality of the dated rooms and noise level. Worst experience. So bad that we booked another hotel and left. They refuse to refund us so be aware of a 21 day cancellation policy. I feel totally taken advantage of. The new hotel is way better and they greeted us with a free upgrade and fantastic customer service so know that there is way better hotels in the area. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
