The Jackson SouthTown offers a renovated experience with kitchenette-equipped rooms and a convenient location. Recent reviews highlight cleanliness and friendly staff, but also reveal significant concerns about noise levels, room maintenance issues, and inconsistent service. Overall, guests find the value appealing, but experience varying levels of comfort and quality.
A tremendous value. Room are well appointed and the staff is second to none. onsite Laundry and Gym. Tremendous value for the cost.
We booked 3 rooms on the same reservation. At checkin we got the run around because they gave one of the rooms to another person. They figured it out and luckily we had our 3rd room. The rooms we updated and appeared nice in the photos but there was no weatherstripping on the exterior door. I could see daylight. The bathroom door would not latch. The windows and walls are so thin you can hear everything! We barely slept because our room was right at the top of the stairs. At 2am I overheard someone on the balcony saying it used to be a Motel 6 but was renovated. That doesnt surprise me after my experience… I wish I had know that before paying $230 a room per night. Wont stay here again and do not recommend if you expect to have a nice night of sleep.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The front desk staff—especially Stacy—was incredibly nice and helpful. She gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area, which made our trip even better. I would definitely stay here again if I’m back in Jackson.
I booked three rooms through Expedia. I called to confirm and found out that the type of room I booked was not available. I booked each room for $350. When I asked what to do, I was told to cancel my reservations and book directly with the motel. I booked an inferior room. When I got to the motel and checked in I found out that the rate was $650. My friend booked the same room for $350. The light in the shower was leaking water. In the morning we could not shower since due to the lights going out. I complained to the front desk. They gave me the managers card. I called and there was no way to leave a message. I feel that I was punished for a mistake I did not make.
Dont stay here if you want any sleep. Walls so thin you can hear your neighbours talking, you can hear every footstep in the rooms above you if your on the bottom floor. It sounds like they are going to come through the roof. There is a group who drink, talk loudly and blast music by the pool every night until extremely late and keep the entire motel awake. The staff do nothing about this. The house keeping come extremely late often coming to your room in the late afternoon or evening when you are back in your room. One of them tried pushing his way into our room to clean after I told him they had already been but he did not speak English. Just pay the extra money for somewhere more comfortable.
No curtains, walls and ceilings are thing you can hear conversations. Sink had a broken piece in it. No hair dryer, iron, or even alarm clock... You had to ask for those. Showerhead was dirty. This is just not a great room... The only good thing is that the location is decent.
This hotel is newly renovated so it is clean, at first glance. Upon further inspection, my bed linens were all dirty and there were mysterious stains on the walls and the floor of the shower. Thank goodness I brought my own quilt and my own pillow! I had to buy a mattress pad from Target next door because the bed was horribly uncomfortable! The "kitchenette" (the whole reason I chose this hotel) is not a kitchenette, but is simply a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. I wouldn't call that a kitchenette since most hotels are equipped with these appliances, but oh well! No breakfast is served and not many restaurants close by, so I was VERY irritated with the lack of kitchen. It came with basic utensils, but no soap, cloth, or sponge to wash dishes until I had a turn down service. At that point, I had already purchased a small thing of dish soap from Target as well. There was a large group of men at the designated smoking area right outside of my room drinking, smoking, and BLARING music all night long. I did not appreciate that at all! I decided to cut my reservation short and move to a different hotel closer to town square. 2/5 stars. The only reason I am giving 2 instead of 1 is because the staff are very friendly and were helpful getting me out of the last 3 nights of my reservation. Not worth the price! Stay somewhere else!
I happened upon this place because I was on a family trip and our car broke down right outside of Jackson. Cindee, the front desk attendee, was so kind and helpful to our family. She gave us the best discount she could, helped us find a mechanic, told us of fun things we could do in town, and gave us a late checkout. She gave us all peace of mind as we worked through sorting out our car troubles and returning all the way home to WA. The room was spotlessly clean, newly remodeled, and very comfortable. It had a kitchenette, which was a must have for the 5 of us. The bathroom was spacious and had a large very nice shower. The best part was the full size bunk beds, which my kids just loved. The pool was heated, the grounds were nice, and it has a laundry facility. The only downside is that it is not located close to walking distance to downtown, but if you have a car its only 8 minutes away. If you are looking for a cozy modern place to stay with a kitchenette this is the place!
We enjoyed our stay! The rooms have been recently remodeled and were very clean! A few negatives. There are blinds on the windows but no curtains. So it’s bright as all get out the second the sun comes up with no way to block it out. As nice as the rooms were the pool area could use some up-keeping. We were here in mid June and the pool didn’t look swimmable. It was green and gross. Also, this ended up being comical to us, but we are 99.9% sure someone from housekeeping ate some of our snacks in the room. Never had that happen before ? Overall our stay was pleasant, we would stay here again, it was close walking distance to shops and restaurants and not far from all the activities! We also enjoyed the full sized fridge and “mini kitchen” was a plus!
This hotel has been recently renovated, and they did not forget to update anything! This is the cleanest, cutest hotel that I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are small, but the amenities are great. They even include a nice sized kitchen with silverware dish soap, dishes, etc. There is ample furniture to store your things if you are staying for a while. The bedding is so soft and bright white. Not a speck of dirt in the entire room. To top it off, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the location couldn’t be better in my opinion. This is not a luxury hotel, but it’s exactly what I want when I travel.
