Grand Targhee Resort consistently receives positive feedback for its excellent skiing, abundant snowfall, and friendly staff. While some guests appreciate its convenient location and value, recurring concerns regarding room quality and occasional staffing issues have been noted. The resort is particularly praised for its expansive terrain and generally uncrowded slopes, making it a worthwhile destination for skiers and snowboarders.

The snow is good! There's several lifts and slopes! The whole vibe is great! This season has been busy, I think, since there's no snow in the NW. There's a nice chill spot in front of the windows in the lodge. Recommend!! ????

The vast majority of employees here are beyond great, some of the nicest people I ever met. However, one day I saw a liftie go completely ballistic on a guest and the next day a parking attendant mocking someone for being confused on his directions. It really puts a damper on the vibe.. Food was fantastic, and snow was great. The hike up Mary's is worth it. Unsure if I'd return.

I love the ski resort- this is not a review of that. This is about the overnight slope side lodging. I want so badly to love the lodging, but we’ve just had two years in a row with too many glitches to enumerate. First off, getting a confirmation of your reservation from the resort is weirdly difficult. My husband booked last year and I this year and we both had to request numerous times to get an emailed receipt. And yes, we checked the spam folder. This time it mattered bc we ended up in a different type of room than I thought I’d booked but with no email confirmation to go on, we had to go by what they told us. Also, this visit they had run out of pack n plays and they were running out of key cards, so no pack n play for us, and just one key card. We had a member of our group who couldn’t climb the 4 flights of stairs to the room, and despite checking in right on time, they said they weren’t able to switch us to a lower room, so our family member had to make alternative accommodations elsewhere (and they offered no help in that). Finally, the rooms are so dated and the loft rooms, despite having the semblance of a mini kitchen, have no cutlery, napkins, or dishes that you’d obviously want if you were going to eat any food stored in said fridge or heated in said microwave. This isn’t all of what’s wrong, but of course this review can’t go on forever. I hope they improve their management and their experience for guests who travel from very far to be able to enjoy this otherwise magical destination.

Room was rustic and right in the action but walls were thin and floors quite creaky. Great pool and hot tub for guests staying. Amazing value here!! Slopes were fabulous, every staff member we interacted with was wonderful. I did have an accident so I had my first ever encounter with Ski Patrol and they were fantastic, calm, friendly, helpful and overall great. Would go back!

We had an excellent ski trip to Targhee with our family! We ended up renting skis for the kids, and the staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient in getting them set up quickly. That made a huge difference and got us out on the slopes faster. We spent most of our day on the bunny hill, which was perfect for the kids to learn and build confidence. One helpful tip: if you’re renting skis for beginners, bring a bungee strap to tie the front of the skis together—it really helps first-time skiers. They were also very accommodating for our work trip. Our room was incredible, especially with the downstairs bunk beds. The kids thought that was amazing! We had a blast and will definitely be back.

Absolutely an amazing place to ski. Long wide blue cruisers. First time here and it will not be the last. Amazing runs. Had lunch at The Trap bar and service and food were also great. We did not stay in the rooms which is why they were not rated. If you go to Jackson Hole to ski, take a day and come here. You will not regret it.

A lot of snow! We snowboarded at Grand Targhee three times between Dec 31-Jan 11. The resort got over 50" of snow in that time. We used the Shoshone all three times as we learned how to snowboard. The Shoshone was good enough for us. The four of us had a blast! The resort wasn't too busy and there were some great views!

Skied for a day in mid-December. Not a great deal of snow, but trails well-groomed. Spectacular views from the top. And, I just loved seeing a Montreal Canadiens hockey jersey on the wall of The Trap Bar and Grill. Great bison burger!

Skied here for 2 days. Awesome skiing. Great lifts with mostly no lift lines. We paid for a 2-day pass online and picked it up at the kiosk. Super easy great little mountain!

I skied this resort last winter, staying with some extended family in Driggs. While I know that the reputation is Grand Foghee, it was a crystal clear if cold (subzero) bluebird day with about 10 inches of new fluff on the ground! I ski 50+ days per year closer to home on my pass, so I'll compare it to the Colorado resorts close to Denver. Traffic up: non-existent compared to 1-70. Parking: a little tight, but doable. They run shuttle from outer lots Village: just the right size without a half mile of walking in your ski boots to get to first lift. Terrain: surprisingly fun mix! I thought it would be all open bowl/above the treeline skiing but there was quite a bit of excellent tree skiing that stayed soft and even untracked all day. It appears that the mountain is split into three draws and there were some areas that I really wanted to drop into but was unsure if they were leading to hikeouts (avoid like the plague), so I stuck to a couple of long cat tracks to move between ridges. That was the only 'mid' parts of the day. Lift lines: It was a weekend pow day and I think the most I ever waited in a lift line was about a half dozen chairs. I was cackling like a crazy person (remember where I usually ski) Plaza/lodges: I only dropped into one little restaurant right at the main base as we were being pretty snow/lap greedy. Prices seemed pretty regular for mountain food. There were multiple "warming pits" on the main plaza, which was welcome to dry my gloves a bit by the fire while we had some refreshments. Views: I saved this for last because, well...the views of the back of Teton National Parks peaks (which is where you are) are low-key crazy! I know they may be fogged in a good amount of time, but this day, it was incredible! I love this place! I wish it were closer to home and thought I have many choices near home, I'm a bit jealous of my extended family that live down the road!
