Flat Creek Ranch consistently receives rave reviews for its breathtaking natural beauty, exceptional hospitality, and a wide range of outdoor activities. Guests consistently praise the delicious cuisine, attentive staff, and a feeling of stepping back in time to a classic Western experience. While some trips have been shortened due to unforeseen circumstances, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.
We rode horses up the long trail towards Flat Creek from Kelly when we stayed the summer at Teton Valley Ranch in the 60s and 70s. Dad taught lapidary. Rides were with Mary Ellen, wife of famous Wendel "Weenie" Wilson who owned TV ranch camp. Also rode to Antler Valley, half way up Sheep Mtn. from Kelly, WY.
Five months after my trip to Flat Creek and I'm still looking back at it like it was a dream. The beauty and peaceful nature of this location can't be captured in pictures. My best friend and I enjoyed our cute cabin, delicious food, the company of the other guests, and the sweet helpful staff. Trey and Shelby are fabulous hosts. I can't wait to return and can't recommend them enough.
My wife and I first discovered Flatcreek Ranch 19 years ago for our honeymoon vacation. Our original stay on this ranch was simply incredible! Words could not describe the beauty of this place, the hospitality of staff/owners, the quality of the cuisine and the warm comfort of the cabins. This place literally checked EVERY box for a tremendous honeymoon and comfortable wilderness experience. Fast forward to July of 2025 and we finally made the trip back to the ranch. What we quickly discovered is that nothing had really changed at all. The property is still breathtakingly beautiful and perfect!!!! Honestly, I can not speak highly enough of the current caretakers/managers of this property--Trey and Shelby. These are two of the kindest and most compassionate people you will ever meet. They had just started working at the ranch when we first visited and now years later are running the entire operation, and doing a fabulous job! The same goes for their incredible staff --Weston, Scott, Jake, Alonzo just to name a few --and all the others! I promise they all will bend over backwards to ensure your experience is amazing. Unfortunately, this year we had a medical issue arise which shortened our stay considerably. My wife and I were both broken-hearted and had no choice but to leave. Needless to say Trey and Shelby and their staff did everything they could do to assist in our departure and to help us navigate our next days down in Jackson. We have now arrived safely home (medical issues resolved) and we are already discussing a "redo" to come back next year!! Flatcreek Ranch is truly in our hearts and minds and we will be back!!!! Thank you Trey, Shelby and the entire team!!
One of the best trips you could ask for! Breathtaking location. Completely private area so you can fully relax and get away from cars, building, cell service, and internet. Loved that there were planned activities, but you could go out anytime on your own and do whatever you wanted. The sissy cabin views have the best** views. We saw deer outside our cabin and got to look at the mountains and lake unobstructed anytime of the day or night. The meals are chef prepared and are amazing quality! You can tell the chefs put a lot of care into what they make. I will say if you’re a snacker throughout the day, bring snacks for your cabin, but the three square meals a day I enjoyed. The staff is great and even bring you coffee/tea in the mornings, make your beds every day, and are willing to do almost anything to make your stay memorable. We took my in-laws on this trip and they had some reservations about riding horses and the hiking, but all of the staff on the guides took as much time with them as needed and made them feel comfortable. Shout out to Shade, Matthew, and Victoria, my in-laws love yall! The horses had some acting out on our ride, which got scary at times, but Shade and Weston remained calm the whole time and adjusted the trip to make everyone feel safe and still have a good time. Weston needs to get a YouTube channel for “Cowboys and Campfires” or something, because him playing the guitar and singing around the campfires was a highlight and something we won’t forget! I’m already trying to recruit our other family to make a trip with us in the future!!
My wife and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit Flat Creek Ranch June 24th - June 28th to celebrate our 27th marriage anniversary. The ENTIRE experience exceeded our expectations! The team at the ranch goes above and beyond in welcoming you as if they’ve known you for years….the food is exceptional, the dinner conversations were full of love and laughter…the fly-fishing is awesome…you can truly do as much or as little as you desire. The beauty of the natural setting surrounding the ranch is indescribable….snow capped mountains, a peaceful lake mirroring the mountains, the rushing creek, endless birdsong….in our non-stop blurring world be prepared to SLOW DOWN and be in awe of it all! Special shout outs to several team members for ensuring our time at the ranch was above and beyond special: to Trey for picking us up in town and telling us the story of the ranch AND for his time and efforts in a successful “search and rescue” mission of my Costa’s temporarily lost in the lake; to Shelby for taking care of us before we ever arrived and for GREAT dinner time stories; to Jake and Tasco for FANTASTIC meals….we will be talking about the legendary meals for years to come; to Emma and Emily for their fly fishing expertise and patience in helping along us novices; to Shade and his patience and knowledge along the horse riding journey and for getting us back to town at the conclusion of our stay, to Luke in successfully guiding a group up and down the Sleeping Indian and all the work you put in behind the scenes, and to Birthday Cake for the early morning front porch company! THANK YOU to all for providing a beautiful escape we will never forget. We look forward to returning soon!
My husband and I came here for the first half of our honeymoon and it was perfect. Great staff, DELICIOUS food (I’m kind of a snob about food, but I was SO excited for every single meal), and gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. We only stayed Friday-Monday, but packed in horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing, and canoeing, all while still having time to just relax on our porch. The cabins are spotless and cozy, you get hot coffee delivered to your door every morning, and every staff member we interacted with was so cool and kind. There’s no cell service or WiFi in the cabins (you won’t miss it!), but there is fast WiFi in the main lodge if you need it. Staying here is luxurious while still prioritizing the outdoor experience. We had so much fun! The only thing I wish we’d done differently is stay longer!
My Wife and I had an unbelievable experience at the Ranch. It felt like being around family and everyone at the ranch is so nice. The views are breathtaking, the horseback trail ride and fly fishing were awesome, and the hikes are incredible. We met some great people along the way and will be definitely be back for sure!! This was our best vacation ever. We could not recommend the ranch enough!
This slice of heaven was everything I expected and more! From booking to check out, the Flat Creek Ranch team was phenomenal! The cabins are clean and so comfortable, the food is delicious and grown nearby, the best tasting water, and of course the view is incomparable. I had great guides for hiking and trail ride, and learned how to fly fish! The only thing I would change is the length of time I stayed there… I should have booked more days ?
The most beautiful place my wife and I have ever vacationed. Trey and Shelby were truly incredible hosts, and made our stay amazing. The food was world-class, the horseback rides through the mountains were unforgettable, and our fly-fishing guide was able to get us on beautiful trout. We enjoyed the wood fire powered hot tub, the bourbon bar, and our rustic cabin. I can’t imagine another place like this. 10/10
