Headwaters Lodge & Cabins offers a convenient location near Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, with a focus on outdoor exploration and a rustic experience. While praised for cleanliness and friendly staff, guests have noted concerns about high prices, inconsistent room service, and some cabin amenities.
Although the room was ok, you have to request coffee k-cups every day. They only give you 4 for 2 people. Had to request tissues first day as there were only a couple left in the box when we arrived. If description of cabins had said the coffee maker in room was was a keurig, we could've bought those in Jackson instead of ground coffee. Restaurant was mediocre at best. Had same waiter both times we visited. He was the worst waiter I've had in a long time. The steak was so tough the knife could barely cut it. Cook was supposed to be medium rare. Was pink but no juice. And all the food was lukewarm by the time it was served. My advice would be to go somewhere else for this price.
We stayed at Headwaters campground for three days (cabin + tent). The cabins are super clean and the staff at campground is just amazing. We had a flat tire and the staff was prompt in helping us by fixing our tire using a tire patch kit. This saved us a day worth of hassle. The restrooms are clean and I saw security doing round ups a few times which made me feel secure. Overall - definitely worth it!!
Great location near south entrance of Yellowstone and very close to Grand Teton as well. The cabins are small and has heaters only (no AC). There is a restaurant and gas station inside. The food and service at restaurant were excellent. Easy to spot some deers near the lodge itself.
Let me start by saying, YES…it is expensive, but everything is expensive [just to put a finer point on this we spent $100 for a very dirty, run-down motel not that far away]. But here, you get a CLEAN, spacious, and comfortable cabin right in a National Park. Also, the food at the restaurant was really good! Not only that, the folks that work there are down right wonderful! So nice, professional, considerate…like they actually care that you have a great place to stay for all the money you are spending. The entire Flagg Ranch crew treated us like it was the start of the summer season when in fact we were in the last week of summer. You would not have known it talking to everyone that worked there. Would definitely recommend this place. But yes…go in knowing that it is expensive.
Pros: 1) kind staff 2) Located 10 min outside Yellowstone. 3) Clean sheets 4) Clean bathroom 5)Clean towels Cons:1) No Ac. The room was too hot(80s) I couldn’t sleep. 2) Cabin rooms smelled like old dying dogs. 3) Deluxe cabin was too small and not enough room for our stuff 4) Location, on google, there is a photo of lake, which is 20 minutes south. This RV/Cabin place is located in a dry, dusty old burnt forest. 5) The map at check in warns of mice and bats in the cabin. We heard something living in the walls.6) Price, the price was way too high for what it is, which is a rustic cabin in an RV park. 7) There wasn’t enough luggage carts which added to the misery. 8) All the guests looked miserable.
I came with my four friends and we traveled through the Tetons to Yellowstone! It was in the perfect spot and we thought the cabins were great! Of course be aware when you book that some do not have electricity or bathrooms! We found that the bathrooms were very accessible and it was nice having the lodge near by and the gas station. The service was great as well. Food is expensive all around this area so plan for that.
Overall great experience. We had a small primative cabin (no electric/water) and had a fabulous time. the gift shop/general store was great and had a lot of things you would need if you forgot something. Clean bathrooms, and very nice staff. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience overall. Great location, perfectly located to easily explore most of the Yellowstone & Grand Tetons national parks. Very well maintained and clean place. 24x7 laundry room. 24x7 front desk, very helpful staff who can provide all the information you need about the trails, hikes, spots to visit. Convenience store, restaurant, gas station on site too. Great for families.
Location was perfect for our 2 night stay! If you've read other reviews it is true there are no TV's in the rooms. No big deal since we were there to site see and chill out. Our room was clean, oversized and was technically a cabin. It had a coffee maker, hair dryer and ice machine nearby. It could have used a refrigerator but we kept our beverages cold in a small cooler. The lodge was nearby (short walk) and had a small convenient store and restaurant that was very good. We would recommend this location and stay again if we return.
We were in a cabin, 3 nights. beautiful location, they never cleaned our room for over $400 a night, disappointed. We had to get clean towels. They are double rooms, so neighbors are connected. No free breakfast, $25 a person.
