Hatchet Resort offers a rustic and welcoming experience in a convenient location near Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, delicious on-site dining, and comfortable, well-appointed rooms, particularly the cabin-style accommodations. However, some reviews highlight occasional service issues and inconsistencies in the guest experience.

Stayed in a standard room and it was perfect for the group of 4 of us. Beds where nice, room was clean. No AC but it was still cooler temp in June. Not in a busy area. We did see a mama bear with her two cubs 30 min after arriving. Perfect if you are visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone. Conveniently has breakfast, lunch, and dinner served on the property. Close to a gas station. Kid friendly (has a park). I would stay again.

The atmosphere of the Hatchett Resort is perfect. They don’t miss a trick, between the houndstooth blankets and the Hatchett logo burned into the tables in the 2 restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and roomy. The staff is friendly and competent. The Hatchett is close to the Grand Tetons but still remote enough to make the stay relaxing. We are so glad that we spent our time in the Grand Tetons at the Hatchett.

My son Alex and I had the most wonderful stay at Hatchet Resort! From the moment we checked in, everything felt warm and welcoming. The cabin-style rooms are so charming, very clean, and gave us the true mountain lodge experience we were hoping for. A big thank you to Manager Pat — he made our stay extra special. Pat was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. He gave us great recommendations for exploring the area and truly went above and beyond to make sure Alex and I felt comfortable and cared for. The location is perfect for families — peaceful, safe, and close to the beauty of Grand Teton. We enjoyed the on-site restaurant, the cozy garden area, and the overall relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend Hatchet Resort, especially for families. With Pat managing, you feel like more than just a guest — you feel like part of the family. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return!

I can’t say enough good things about Hatchet Resort! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely authentic to the Wyoming experience. The log-cabin style rooms are cozy, clean, and beautifully designed - it truly feels like staying in the heart of the mountains. What makes this place stand out even more is the incredible service. Manager Pat went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Pat’s knowledge of the area, kindness, and attention to detail turned a great stay into an unforgettable one. Whether it was offering local tips, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, or simply greeting us with a smile, Pat made us feel like family. The location is also perfect -peaceful, surrounded by nature, and just a short drive to all the best spots in Grand Teton. The on-site restaurant was delicious, the garden area was so relaxing, and the overall atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for in a mountain lodge. If you’re visiting the area, look no further. Hatchet Resort is hands-down the best choice, and with Pat managing, you know you’re in the best hands. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed & dined at the resort. The stay was fabulous. As for dinner we got the bean burger - as good as a bean burger gets, good amount of fried on the side too. greek salad - the salad was really good. garlic bread - this wasn’t on the menu we asked as a side, it was okay. Brussels sprouts - they were tasty but drained in oil, had to press the oil out of each piece. We also had breakfast. We got the pancakes - they were soft but chewy, okay to eat & oatmeal - it was delicious, with added huckleberry & walnuts on top! Overall a good experience.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Having just travelled through South Dakota and Wyoming for several weeks staying in many different places, including the Old Faithful Inn, this place has been the best. The rooms are lovely, the restaurant food and service are superb, the breakfast diner is also excellent. There are outdoor games for children, which adults can also enjoy. Outdoor seating overlooking the Tetons is spacious, comfortable and makes a lovely memory. To top it all off there is a shop and a petrol station. I would go out of my way to stay here again if ever in the area.

Do not book a wedding here! The couple will spend their wedding weekend chasing down staff to try and fix problem after problem. Their guests will be treated like the scum of the earth. The management feels that it’s not a problem to post late check in keys to the front bulletin board; so when guests arrive, some random stranger took their room key for a free night. The price and location is not worth the poor customer service and lack of ability to communicate; making them sub par for the standards of the region. It’s too bad, with a new owner and some updates, it could be a great place.

It wasn't bad, but it was definitely not worth the cost. Customer Service needs some help, but I don't think they have much motivation. Thanks to location, there's no trouble keeping rooms full. Decor is a little dated. If money is no object, enjoy.

It's a nice little motel tucked back just off the highway. It was convenient to get back into the GT National Park quickly and an alternative to Jackson (and people). Rooms were clean. You can't hear the highway. Breakfast and dinner were great. Staff at restaurants were very friendly. If you are a little late for breakfast, you might have to wait. They got busy but still served with a smile. It's not going to be for everyone, but I thought the value was good.

Hatchet Resort was our favorite stay on our week long trip through Wyoming. We stayed in one of the suites, and it had an amazing view, and the interior was super cozy. Their dinner restaurant The Whetstone Grill was also the best meal we had on our entire trip (try the Ribeye and the Trout), and their breakfast spot right next door was also incredible. We will surely be coming back again!
