Togwotee Mountain Lodge receives mixed reviews, highlighting its prime location for snowmobiling and friendly guides, but struggles with inconsistent customer service, deferred maintenance, and food quality. Recent feedback suggests a decline in overall operations and a lack of investment in the property and its amenities.
Loved this lodge the location and the experience. Wish they added more amenities. But we truly loved our stay. New GM nice people hope Aramark adds what is needed. Amenities hot tub food options at market and propane would make it perfect. They need more and are missing a big opportunity with more options. Will be back!!!!
I stayed for two winter snowmobiling packages back to back. Best money spent in a long time. Three day guided trail riding to get used to the altitude and that worked really well for me. Then a three day guided backcountry riding which was awesome. I really love off trail riding and might as well go with the best. Ed, guide delivered big time. Worked with my my abilities and tested my abilities. So yes I did get stuck, you are not trying if you don’t. Sleds were all in great running shape so the crew is top notch. The lodge and food were excellent. I work hard for my money to be able to take a vacation once in awhile. It was really great being helped by people who care. The people that work there really made me feel welcome at all times. Hands down a great value for a great time!
Very disappointed with their reservation customer service. I waited on hold for over an hour before being connected to a “specialist,” who then told me they could not help reschedule my upcoming trip without charging an additional $600 non-refundable fee upfront. After that, I was placed on hold for another 30 minutes while they contacted a supervisor. The supervisor then claimed there were multiple storm systems moving into the area. However, when I checked the lodge’s live webcam, there had been no storms for the past two weeks and none forecasted for the next two weeks. I also verified this using five different weather apps (Opensnow, Accuweather, MyRadar, etc) and the National Weather Service snowfall data for the area, all of which showed the opposite of what they were claiming. This lodge seems more concerned with collecting money than working with customers to reschedule for better conditions or building long-term relationships and repeat business. Stay away. There are many other lodges in the Beartooth Range with far better customer service and better snow conditions. I will not be returning and will make sure others in my snowmobile clubs and region are aware of this experience.
Location is a 5 star, cabins are decent for the money and the food is not in my opinion worth what they charge. Friend had to rent a sled for the day. I was sitting in the rental shop observing as we waited. A few of the older staff members are pretty rude the way they talk to customers. Not a very professional look and well definitely turn people away from the sport.
This lodge was once a great place to visit. It has gone downhill in a hurry. Tons of deferred maintenance everywhere you look. Overpriced for what you get. Food at the restaurant was terrible (so we traveled elsewhere for meals which was inconvenient) the staff was kind and accommodating, just lacked that charm the service industry needs. The owners (corporation) just really needs to focus some attention at making necessary repairs to the whole lodge/cabins/restaurant and maybe try the food and make some necessary changes!!!! Our cabin could hardly keep up warmth, shower was dirty (had a soap scum ring this is scratched my fingernail through, lots of dust on surfaces not touched daily, flies in window sills, but the linens were clean. We have stayed at far less expensive places and the rooms shined, had paper towels, rugs or boot trays to catch the snow melt in the entrance, ample hooks not just at the door. There is so much I would do if this were my lodge!!!!
I have been coming here for 15 years to ride snowmobile and every year it has been going downhill. The service is absolutely terrible now, we have had multiple nights now that it takes over a half hour for someone to even come and say hi and bring waters or get our drink order. Multiple years now our garbage is full in our cabin and I go up and ask to have them remove the bag and replace with new and usually that takes multiple days and also multiple stops at the front desk to remind them for it to happen. I don't think the managers or employees care at all about the job they are providing or let alone Aramark cares at all. At this point I hope Aramark sells this place and someone comes in that actually cares about this place as much as I do! Will probably just cook frozen pizzas in the cabin in the future because at least the service will be good and that will save us a lot of money and not waste it up at the restaurant/bar.
Ok, THIS is a LOADED review but please take the time to read it, ESPECIALLY if you are planning a stay. First off i did give the rooms 2 stars, they are not the greatest, significantly outdated, shower heads have very little water flow, sinks don’t drain well, walls are thin, lighting is very poor, but i have stayed at a-lot worse. The location i gave 5 stars, we came for the sole purpose of snowmobiling, so the location is somewhat monopolized by them. The Aramark Corporation owns Togwotee so its a license for them to print money. They do not own the land according to google. ( i did not do any other research on that.) Now for the service, food service and concierge desk. 1. The concierge desk is for the lack of better words absolutely terrible. There were 2 ladies and one gentleman, I wont post names but they know who they are. The gentleman was very very considerate!, and helpful, both ladies, couldn’t care less, they are there for a paycheck at best until they find something else to more easily pass the time. We definitely asked some of the same questions as earlier people that day, but for us it was the first time we asked the question, so obviously they were very annoyed. Rude, inconsiderate, and sidetracked by the computer screen. 2. The food, if you stay here as we did with the intention of having someone else make and serve you, keep this in mind. The breakfast, lunch and dinner, or supper however you refer to it will be limited. If you intend to stay for 5+ days the menu will get very old. That being said some of the food is good but over our one week stay we ended up sending back our food 4 times because it was actually cold to the touch. I truly believe that the food servers did not have anything to do with that, as we were not the only ones during that time, and maybe that problem has been addressed, i am simply stating our experience. On one occasion they did give us a 25% discount. The food prices are very high, which i suppose a person would expect that given the location and the fact that it is a 100% optional if you want to stay and snowmobile the area. 3. Outside the lodge; parking is limited, very little organization, it is manageable but be prepared to tote your gear a significant distance if you are staying in the lodge. (We did not stay in a cabin), i have no experience with that. The gas station operates as normal, but 91 octane is 5.08 per gallon when we stayed, and again maybe a person should expect that. Again this is my experience when staying here in December with the sole purpose of snowmobiling with our own snowmobiles. We have stayed in lots and lots of places all over the United States and Canada, I can say with 100% certainty that we will not stay here again. In closing i am not stating that the facility is a complete failure, HOWEVER, they need some changes, and as a family whatever you think you may spend to stay here it will cost you double. According to Google the Aramark Corporation is publicly traded, so maybe buy some shares ?. I did read several reviews by other posters, i see that the “owner” reply is “thank you for your stay” , and i am sure I will receive the same. Google says Sasha Day is the president of Aramark and if so, maybe instead of the keyboard warrior reply, She could meet me at the lodge for some cold biscuits and gravy. Regards.
Our experience was so great! We had a cabin in the woods and we enjoyed every minute of it. The cabins have a kitchenette and a cozy bed- and living roomed well as a bath room. We had a small issue with our coffee maker and a technician came right away and fixed it. Also the restaurant is amazing. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a unique place to stay near Grand Teton NP??
We came out to snowmobile. Angela was an awesome guide and host. Location in the Tetons is awesome and you can't go wrong. Cell signal isn't good....but that's not all bad. Very relaxing and request Angela....can't miss with her showing you the Tetons.
Me and my family had an amazing snowmobile trip. Olivia was our guide and she was amazing. I would recommend anyone to ask for her as there guide. She was very attentive and learned our level of riding quickly to take us to the fun spots. She even made lunch reservations. The accommodations at Togwotee Lodge were the best. Our cabin, the food , the staff and the transportation to and from the airport were amazing. I hope to return in the future.
